What is www.allaboutauckland.com?
This website is your place to go for the latest out of Auckland Council meetings and information from behind the scenes of New Zealand’s largest city. We provide you with video, background information, commentary and opinion.

Who are allaboutauckland.com?
allaboutauckland.com Limited is a private, independent company that is committed to improving transparency in Auckland’s local government. We are not funded by Auckland Council. Previously we provided this service via www.Franklin-Live.net. We re-branded and switched to the allaboutauckland.com website in November 2012.

What meetings of Auckland Council are covered by allaboutauckland.com?
We cover the Governing Body meetings and the meetings of the whole council: Accountability, Strategy & Finance, Regional Development and Auckland Plan, also the Transport Committee, CCO Review and CCO Strategy meetings.
We endeavour to cover the forums: Culture, Arts, Events; Economic Development; Environment; Hauraki Gulf; Parks, Recreation and Heritage; Social and Community Development.
We may cover other meetings and Auckland events of interest.

When am I able to view a meeting?
As a Professional subscriber, you will have access to video of the entire meeting, usually the next working day. Premium subscribers will have access to selected stories and highlights from some meetings the next day.

How can I stay up-to-date with new content?
We will be keeping our community informed through social media.

I miss the old menu structure from www.Franklin-Live.net. How do I get to see this?
The original menu structure, organised by Auckland Council meetings and work streams, is still available as an option (called the Meeting Menu) to Professional subscribers.  Professional subscribers may change their menu structure at any time by going into My Account (click on your email address at the top of the page), and selecting Options .

I can't play the videos. How do I fix this?
- To view the video material on this website you will need FLASH PLAYER 10.2 or newer.  Flash doesn't play on Apple 3G, Ipad, Iphone. You can download the latest Adobe Flash version for your system here.  Our mobile video streaming solution will be coming soon.
- If you are using Explorer 9 and the video doesn’t start, try choosing Tools from the Explorer menu bar and ticking Compatibility View.
- We know that problems can occur with video streaming on Windows 7 based systems using Chrome and Flash 11.5. This is outside our control. We suggest using a different combination of browser and Flash version.
- If you already have a broadband connection and the video doesn't start within 5 seconds, then plays smoothly thereafter, consider changing ISP's. The NZ Consumer organisation has current ISP tests and recommendations.

The website doesn't display quite right on my mobile phone. How do I fix this?
Content on www.allaboutauckland.com is currently formatted for broadband only. Soon a mobile platform will be available, as an add-on to your subscription.

Why is the picture smaller than or not as clear as it was on Franklin-Live?
We have responded to requests from people who have lower speed connections by reducing the size of the video file. An option of higher quality video will be available soon as part of our archive service.

Why is allaboutauckland.com charging for subscriptions?
We are a private, independent company. Our costs include camera operators, video production, content management, writers and interviewers, marketing, admin, product development, website development, recording and technical equipment, video storage and streaming and maybe there will be a little profit at the end.

What features are available at each subscription level?
There are three subscription levels:
Basic:  Access to general interest stories and interviews, and a highlight story or two each week. There is no charge for a Basic subscription.
Premium:  Access to current news stories, highlight videos and interviews from the last two months. You may search the back catalogue and purchase any items you wish.
Professional:  Additionally has access to full video replay of all the meetings, forums, events and interviews from the last two months. May navigate the site using the standard Topics menu or by the Meeting menu.

How do I upgrade my subscription level?
You may upgrade your subscription level at any time by going into My Account (click on your email address at the top of the page), Subscription Information, and purchasing the level of subscription that you want. Alternatively, if you click on an item to which yo don’t have access rights, you will be prompted to upgrade.

If you already have a paid subscription, then the remaining paid period will be converted to a credit on a pro rate basis and added to your new, upgraded subscription, lengthening the period. T o see that date, look under My Account, Subscription Information.

How do I cancel my subscription?
You may cancel your subscription by going into My Account (click on your email address at the top of the page), Subscription Information,.  Click on the red cross next to your next payment. When you unsubscribe, your subscription will terminate at the end of your current paid up period.

How do I access older content, e.g. a meeting from four months ago?
While some content may remain available for longer, the usual period for which articles are available to you under your subscription is a rolling two month period, e.g.  the last two meetings of a committee. allaboutauckland.com has archival material from the beginning of operation of www.Franklin-Live.com in November 2010. This material will soon become progressively available on www.allaboutauckland.com as downloads for purchase.

What may I do with downloaded material?
You may use downloaded content personally or professionally. You may link to our content.
You may not re-transmit content from our website, e.g. by placing it on another website, without our express written permission. Refer to our Terms and Conditions for more information.

I have changed my email address and no longer use the one that is my login for allaboutauckland.com. How do I change this?
Once you are logged in, click on My Account (click on your email address at the top of the page), Account Information, and update your details.

How do I change my password or other information?
Once you are logged in, go to My Account (click on your email address at the top of the page), Account Information, and update your details.

What is allaboutauckland.com’s policy about handling my personal information and my card details?
allaboutauckland.com is committed to keeping your information private and secure. We will not share your information outside of our operation. We do not see or store your card details, only the last four digits. Please read our Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions for more information.

How do I get a tax invoice for my subscription.
Go to My Account (click on your email address at the top of the page), Subscription Information, to access your past transactions. From there, you can download a tax invoice for each transaction.

Yes, all pdf files are text searchable using Adobe Reader.
